Religious Liberty won--you can be a part of that

Fellow Conservative,

The media won't tell you like this, but you won last week. Twice.

As conservatives and Americans, we cherish the freedom of expression. To believe and exercise your faith without fear; that is a core value, non-negotiable, which defines whether or not we are free.

That fundamental right, to act as your conscience dictates, and not as the government would dictate, was on the line in the Klein vs Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries decision this week. The Supreme Court threw out an Oregon ruling that would've fined the Klein family $135,000 for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, pointing to the recent Masterpiece Cakeshop decision.

The Supreme Court has sent a strong signal that the states may not force people of faith to act against their conscience in this regard. Likewise, The Supreme Court also ruled 7-2 that the Bladensburg Peace Cross may continue to stand as a memorial to fallen veterans of World War I.

In American Legion vs. American Humanist Association, the atheist organization sought to have the memorial removed because it was a cross on public land. As recently as 2016, this would've been a nail-biter decision; today, a strong signal was sent that religious symbols are safe in public by seven Justices, with only Justices Ginsburg and Sotomayor dissenting.

Because you have joined forces with Heritage to advocate for constitutionalist nominees like Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, we can breathe a little easier knowing that freedom isn't so vulnerable.

Join with us again to ensure conservative victories, on the bench and beyond.

Justices of this caliber aren't identified overnight. It requires a steady stream of lower court judges that we can watch for years, to assure their fidelity to constitutional principles, in order to get there. While 123 appointments have been made since 2017, almost as many vacancies remain.

We can breathe easier, but we can't rest yet, because the left is attacking and blocking constitutonalist judges at an alarming rate. Liberals are even talking about packing the Supreme Court by increasing the number of Justices; liberals know they are losing on this issue, and are desperate to reverse our recent victories.

Heritage can't afford to rest until we've matched every vacancy with a constitutionalist. Please make a special gift today to secure the future of our courts.

Together, we can fight to put the right people on our courts, and stop judicial activism from threatening our freedom.

All the best,
Kay C. James

P.S. With two victories this week, this is no time to become complacent. Please click this secure link to stand with constitutionalist judges, and transform the federal courts: https://secured.heritage.org/religiousliberty/

Follow us on Twitter View this as website BY JAMIE MCINTYRE ADVERTISEMENT FROM 'CATCH AND RELEASE' TO 'DETAIN AND DEPORT': After months of hard-nosed negotiation behind closed doors in the Senate, the text of a compromise $118 billion national security supplemental budget bill, which includes major concessions from the Democrats on border security and desperately needed aid for Ukraine, was released last night. Senators now have two days to read and digest it before a Wednesday vote. Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), the lead GOP negotiator, said the bill contains all the most vital reforms Republicans have demanded and called it a "once-in-a-generation opportunity to close our open border." "The bill provides funding to build the wall, increase technology at the border, and add more detention beds, more agents, and more deportation flights. The border security bil
