Sisolak Signs Anti-Gun Bill Ignoring the constitutional rights of law-abiding Nevadans, on June 14th, Governor Steve Sisolak signed omnibus anti-gun Assembly Bill 291 into law.  Your NRA would like to thank the many lawmakers who stood with our members and Second Amendment supporters at every step of the legislative process in opposition to AB 291.   NEWS Pittsburgh Mayor Presents DICK'S CEO an Award for Gun Control Advocacy On June 4-5, the annual Yale Mayors College & CEO Summit was held in New York City. The theme of this year's CEO Summit was "Trumpeting the Issues without Becoming the Issue: Selective Use of CEO Voice." Making clear that much of the event was about corporate virtue signaling strategy, "Session 2" on the June 4 agenda was titled, "The Courage to Stand Alone: CEO Voice & Virtue."   NEWS Obama Lies about Guns… Again Despite no longer living in the White House, former President Barack Obama continues to be a headache to law-abiding Americans. On May 30, Obama spoke at a digital innovation event in Brazil. During the onstage conversation, Obama said, "Our gun laws in the United States don't make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon, any time, without much, if any, regulation. They can buy [guns] over the internet, they can buy machine guns."   NEWS Bloomberg Course: Ineffective Policies and Non-Existent Technology This week in the online course "Reducing Gun Violence in America: Evidence for Change" is a real rollercoaster. Week Five is titled "Regulating Gun Design, Enforcing Gun Laws, and Reducing Police-Involved Shootings" covers so-called assault weapons, smart guns, and technology so cutting edge it doesn't even actually exist. There are several unexpected acknowledgements of reality this week, and we'll point those out whenever possible. We'd like to be fair to the Bloomberg School and we know our readers appreciate brief rays of sunshine in a storm of nonsense.   NEWS New Jersey "Smart Gun" Law Gets an F Grade After signing six gun control measures into law a year ago, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy warned that "Our work is far from done." Several new bills are now making the rounds in a state already notorious for its extreme and oppressive firearm laws.   NEWS Advice Columnist Tells Father to Evict Daughter from His House for Owning a Gun Amy Dickinson is an advice columnist who, according to the company that syndicates her work, "combines storytelling with advice that is rooted with honesty and trust." "Ask Amy" appears in newspapers that include The Baltimore Sun, The Chicago Tribune, The Lost Angeles Times, and The Washington Post. She is also billed as an "expert on relationships."   LEGAL & LEGISLATION New Hampshire: House Concurs On Anti-Gun Bills On June 13th, the New Hampshire state House of Representatives voted to concur on two anti-gun bills that they had received back from the Senate.  House Bills 109 and 514 will now go to Governor Chris Sununu's desk, where his office has indicated that he is not looking to make any changes to existing firearm laws.    HARTFORD COURANT An Anti-hunting Bill would have been Bad for African Wildlife. Here's why. The adjournment of the Connecticut Assembly has derailed Senate Bill 20, legislation that would have criminalized importation of elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and giraffe parts from Africa into the state. Hunters and wildlife conservationists around the world, especially in Africa, are overjoyed to see this development.   THE WASHINGTON TIMES 2020 Democrats all Offering the Same Hot Dogs A couple of decades ago, the food vendors that plied the streets of major U.S. cities were a case study in monotony. Even though they were technically competitors, the hot dog carts and halal stands that crowded the corners tended to sell the exact same products at the exact same price.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION New Jersey: Assembly Committee Passes Gun Control Package Yesterday, the Assembly Judiciary Committee passed a package of anti-gun bills heavily opposed by NRA and ANJRPC.   THE WASHINGTON TIMES Why Balanced Reporting About Guns is Crucial Kate Nixon worked as a compliance manager on the second floor of Operations Building 2 in the Virginia Beach Municipal Center.
