On June 3rd, the Nevada Legislature adjourned its 2019 legislative session.  Assembly Bill 291, which was passed and enrolled to the Governor, is still awaiting his consideration.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION New Hampshire: House Floor Votes On Anti-Gun Bills Possible Soon At any moment, the New Hampshire state House of Representatives may hold floor votes to consider concurrence on a number of bills received from the Senate that would impact our Second Amendment rights, including legislation to criminalize the private transfer of firearms, impose waiting periods, increase arbitrary boundaries where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless, and take away the constitutional rights of individuals without due process.    NEWS NRA Statement on Virginia Governor's Gun Control Proposals The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action's director of public affairs, Jennifer Baker, released the following statement on Tuesday in reaction to Gov. Ralph Northam's gun control proposals:    FOX NEWS Brit Hume on Kirsten Gillibrand's friendly letter to NRA: She may be 'most flexible politician' I've ever seen Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume called Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand one of the "the most flexible politicians" he's ever seen after the NRA released a friendly 2008 letter from the Democratic presidential hopeful. During a Fox News town hall Sunday, the New York senator argued that Americans are "ripped apart again and again" by senseless gun violence, and slammed the NRA for caring "more about profits than the American people."   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Washington: Public Hearing on I-1639 Rifle Transfer Fee On June 4th, the Department of Licensing will be holding a public hearing to set the fee that will be charged on all sales and transfers of semi-automatic rifles when the remaining provisions of I-1639 go into effect on July 1st.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION NRA and CRPA Hosting Webinar Regarding Upcoming California Ammunition Background Check Requirements On Wednesday, June 26, NRA and CRPA will be hosting a free live webinar discussing the upcoming ammunition background check requirements scheduled to take effect July 1.    WASHINGTON FREE BEACON Gillibrand to NRA in 2008: 'Look Forward to Working With You for Many Years' The National Rifle Association released a letter Monday sent to its executive director by then-Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.) in 2008, where she wrote of her desire to work with the guns rights organization for "many years." "I appreciate the work that the NRA does to protect gun owners right and I look forward to working with you for many years in Congress," she wrote.   WFLA Florida mother holds intruder at gunpoint waiting for deputies to arrive on scene A Tampa Bay mother said she experienced 26 minutes of terror.  During half of that nightmare, Lauren Richards was forced to hold an alleged intruder at gunpoint. The incident occurred in Rolling Oaks Estates in Hudson, Florida in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 25, 2019. Surveillance video shows an armed neighbor trying to help before deputies arrived at the scene. The accused intruder, Devin Cooke, 25, lives nearby, according to a PCSO incident report.   AP Virginia Governor to Call Special Session on Guns Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam will recall lawmakers to the state Capitol in coming weeks to take up a package of gun-control legislation he said is urgently needed to prevent killings like Friday's mass shooting in Virginia Beach. Northam , a Democrat, told The Associated Press ahead of his Tuesday announcement that he plans to convene a special legislative session later this summer.   FOX NEWS NRA responds to Gillibrand put-down by posting her 2008 letter praising gun-rights group One day after Kirsten Gillibrand slammed the National Rifle Association (NRA) as the "worst organization in this country," the group on Monday posted an effusive letter it received from Gillibrand in 2008 in which she praised "the work that the NRA does to protect gun owners rights" and said she hoped to work with it "for many years in Congress." At a fiery Fox News town hall in Dubuque, Iowa Sunday, Gillibrand charged that the NRA cares "more about their profits than the American people" and "lies" for the sake of profit. But the NRA has countered that Gillibrand, whose campaign has attracted at most 1 percent support in national and early voting state polls, was a cynical political opportunist trying to gin up support for her candidacy.
