New Jersey: Gun Bills Stall in Senate Committee
It's a good day in Trenton when nothing happens, and that's exactly what occurred today.  The Senate Law and Public Safety Committee failed to advance a pair of gun control bills on Monday's agenda.

Georgia: Carry Permit Reciprocity Heads to House Floor
LEGAL & LEGISLATION
Georgia: Carry Permit Reciprocity Heads to House Floor
Today, the Georgia House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee approved House Bill 787, and it now heads to the House floor for further consideration. It is a critical bill to expand the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families both within Georgia and in other states.

Connecticut: Hearing Scheduled for Ammo Tax
On Thursday, February 27th, the Connecticut Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee has scheduled a public hearing for House Bill 5040, an additional tax on the purchase of ammunition.

Nebraska: Gun Control Bills Fail to Advance before Deadline

Nebraska: Gun Control Bills Fail to Advance before Deadline
Last week, hundreds of NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters attended the Judiciary Committee hearing, which included two extreme gun control measures.  Thanks to your steady opposition, neither of the proposed gun control bills were prioritized before the deadline and won't advance this session.  Those bills include:

New Hampshire: More Anti-Gun Bills Considered This Week
Multiple legislative committees are scheduled to consider several anti-gun bills this week. Each of these bills are unnecessary attempts to create further restrictions on your Second Amendment rights and will do nothing to prevent violent crime in New Hampshire.  Committee members need to hear from you now.

West Virginia: Carry Permit Fee Reduction At Risk
LEGAL & LEGISLATION
West Virginia: Carry Permit Fee Reduction At Risk
House Bill 4955 to reduce the application fee for a License to Carry Deadly Weapons (LCDW) is currently before the Senate Finance Committee for consideration. Unfortunately, a number of sheriffs have lobbied against reducing the fee because they want to maintain their revenue stream from selling rights back to citizens. This is despite the sheriffs testifying in 2016 during the fight for constitutional carry that they would give away the permits for free if they could.

Attention Virginians! The Fight Against Bloomberg-Backed Gun Control isn't Over!
Freedom-loving Virginians are breathing a well-deserved sigh of relief. On Monday, February 17, four Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee joined their Republican colleagues to vote down HB 961. The legislation, backed by disgraced Governor Ralph Northam and his Michael Bloomberg-bought allies in the House of Delegates, would have banned a wide array of commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms and magazines, making criminals out of otherwise law-abiding individuals merely for retaining possession of their own property.

American Bar Association Expands Promotion of Gun Control
NEWS
American Bar Association Expands Promotion of Gun Control
The American Bar Association (ABA) has long supported restrictions on the rights of gun owners. While it has defended the due process rights of some very unpopular groups, including, enemy combatants, terror suspects, and convicts on death row, in 2017 the ABA decided that gun owners should not be afforded similar due process protections.
