HB 4955 reduces the application fee for a License to Carry Deadly Weapons (LCDW).   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Iowa: House Passes Range Protection & Preemption Bill On February 27th, the Iowa House of Representatives voted 52-44 to pass House File 2502 to protect shooting ranges from being shut down by unreasonable local ordinances and ensure that Second Amendment rights remain protected across the state. It's now on to the Senate for further consideration.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Alabama: Sheriffs Attempting to Kill Lifetime Permit Option Your NRA has learned that a number of Alabama sheriffs are attempting to derail House Bill 39 and Senate Bill 47, NRA-supported bills to provide a lifetime option to Alabama's concealed carry permit holders.  We've heard that the Alabama Sheriffs Association (ASA) and individual sheriffs from across the state have been in Montgomery hammering your legislators to kill these important bills.  The choice of which option is best for your self-defense needs should be YOURS, not theirs.   NEWS LEGAL & LEGISLATION  NRA Leads Constitutional Carry Fight in TN The National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) is leading the fight for Constitutional Carry in Tennessee, a measure that would expand self-defense options for law-abiding citizens.
