Catch up with the daily NRA-ILA Alert! view the web version of this email DAILY ALERT FOR Friday, February 28, 2020   NEWS NRA Challenges Oregon's Latest Gun, Magazine Ban The National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today filed a legal challenge to Initiative Petition 60 (IP60), a proposed ballot measure that would heavily regulate commonly owned semi-automatic firearms, ban the possession of these firearms by law-abiding young adults, and ban standard capacity magazines.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Oregon: Legislators Take a Stand Against Gun Control A group of pro-Second Amendment lawmakers have taken the step of refusing to attend floor sessions. Their action prevents a chamber of the Oregon Legislature from reaching a quorum and stops House Bill 4005A and other bills from advancing.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Alabama: We Need Your Help to Pass Lifetime Permits in Senate Judiciary! On March 4th, the Senate Committee on Judiciary will hold a public hearing on Senate Bill 47 to create a new lifetime carry permit.  A number of sheriffs are attempting to derail this much needed upgrade, so Second Amendment supporters need to make their voices heard.    LEGAL & LEGISLATION Minnesota: House Passes Pair of Anti-Gun Bills to the Senate Yesterday, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed anti-gun carryover legislation from 2019, House File 8 and House File 9.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Virginia: Senate Passes Anti-Gun House Bills On February 26th and 27th, the Virginia Senate voted to pass a number of the anti-gun bills that crossed over from the House.
