Unless You Like Punishment Yeah, you’d need a stiff drink to get through this bizarre spectacle. The Democratic National Convention: COVID Edition ends tonight. Former Vice President Joe Biden will possibly remember to deliver his speech as the 2020 Democratic nominee.  In days past, we’ve seen what you’d expect from a party that’s become totally Trump-deranged. An ex-DOJ official said the president’s immigration executive order was “unlawful.” The Supreme Court said she was wrong. The party is now not shy about revealing what the Green New Scam is all about: destroying capitalism. Michelle Obama appears to have forgotten that her husband threw migrant children in cages first. Andrew Cuomo patted himself on the back for killing the elderly in his state, part of his top-notch COVID response. Oh, and he has a book coming out about it too.  Barack Obama managed to deliver another smug lecture about how Trump and the GOP threaten our institutions, which is rich coming from a man who weaponized his DOJ to spy on the presidential campaign of his political rival, seized phone records from reporters, and saw his administration be accused of stalling conservative groups from obtaining tax-exempt status. You bet Trump had a classic response to this. Oh, and Obama managed to blow up the spot of Kamala Harris, who delivered her formal address as the Democrat’s VP nominee.    We’re lucky there’s only two nightly hours of this, but they’re the longest hours imaginable, especially with all the shoddy DNC videos, which ooze self-righteousness. Some funny parts include the DNC not being able to fill in the virtual audience board, so they had to duplicate folks to make it appear as if more people were participating.    Overall, the folks who gave speeches in support of Joe’s agenda that were somewhat convincing rested with Obama and fake Indian Liz Warren. Apparently, her cultural appropriation sin has been forgiven as Warren was included in a Native American Caucus meeting. Bernie couldn’t muster any energy in his endorsement... you could tell by his voice. Bill tried, but he just cannot deliver the way he used to—and he forgot some key facts—no surprise. Also, more than a few people were wondering what Slick Willy was doing at the DNC given the ‘Me Too’ movement. Even Harris’ speech that included passages bolstering Joe was undercut by the fact that she pretty much called him an ally of racists in the Democratic debates. Also, let’s drop the fiction that Joe is a “nice guy.” Oh, and Crooked Hillary Clinton carried on her 2016 whine tour into this event as expected.    What about the leftist violence gripping the nation? The DNC did well to suffocate that huge story with a pillow. They also decided to go hard on gun control at a time when Democrats are viciously anti-police and gutting law enforcement. And people wonder why cities are seeing spikes in crime.  What really should have been suffocated was the person who did the music selection the Democrats had for this circus act, a big top filled with lies, lies, and even more lies. Could you imagine a full night of this? There’s not enough alcohol in the world.     One thing is clear. The person who appears to have benefited the most from the DNC is Donald J. Trump.
