Today, January 29th, House Bill 60 passed the Senate Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment Standing Committee with a technical amendment by a vote of 5-2-1. It will now head to the Senate Floor for consideration.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Connecticut: Handful of Gun Bills Introduced in the General Assembly Since the start of the 2021 Legislative Session, the Connecticut General Assembly has seen the introduction of multiple firearm-related bill proposals.    NEWS  NRA Sues Fairfax County for Unconstitutional Ban on Firearms in Parks The National Rifle Association teamed with three Virginia residents and filed a lawsuit on Friday against Fairfax County for their unconstitutional ban on firearm possession in parks and in areas adjacent to certain events.    LEGAL & LEGISLATION Montana: Permitless Carry Legislation Heads to the Senate Floor Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed Permitless Carry legislation, House Bill 102, by a 6 to 5 vote. The measure now heads to the Senate Floor for a full vote.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Virginia: NRA Sues Fairfax County Over Parks Ban Today, the National Rifle Association of America and three individuals sued the County of Fairfax, Virginia, alleging that its ban on possessing firearms in parks violates the Virginia Constitution's right to keep and bear arms. The lawsuit also challenges the prohibition on possession of a firearm in places adjacent to permitted events and events that require a permit but do not have one.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Massachusetts: Multiple Anti-Gun Bills Introduced in the House Since the start of the 2021 Legislative Session, the Massachusetts House has seen the introduction of multiple anti-gun bills.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Missouri: Committee Hearing Self-Defense Bills On February 1st, the House General Laws Committee will hear House Bill 52 and House Bill 212, to reduce arbitrary boundaries where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION New Mexico: More Red Flag Gun Confiscation and a Proposed Ban on Self-Made Firearms "Red Flag" Is Back & It's Worse Than Before   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Iowa: Both Chambers Pass Right to Keep and Bear Arms Constitutional Amendment Yesterday, both chambers of the Iowa General Assembly passed Senate Joint Resolution 7 to propose an amendment to the state Constitution affirming and recognizing the right of Iowans' to keep and bear arms as a fundamental individual right. SJR 7 passed the Senate by a vote of 29-18 and the House by a vote of 58-41.
