Cox Signs Two More Self-Defense Bills Yesterday, Governor Spencer Cox signed two more self-defense bills, for a total of three that he has signed into law in 2021, including permitless carry that he signed in February.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Florida Alert! 5 Good Bills PASS Florida Committees so-far this Week Five good bills pass Florida Committees this week!   LEGAL & LEGISLATION South Carolina: Open Carry Bill Passes Critical Vote Today, the House voted 82-33 to advance House Bill 3094 after second reading. HB 3094 still faces a third reading before the House can vote to pass it. The progress so far has been made possible by Rep. Bobby Cox showing his strong leadership and unwavering commitment to the Second Amendment by guiding this bill.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Illinois: Bill Introduced to Ban Home-Built Firearms Yesterday, Representative Angelica Guerrero-Cuellar introduced House Bill 4055 to severely restrict the centuries old practice of home-building firearms for personal use, and also to ban most existing home-built firearms. It has not received a committee assignment yet, but NRA will monitor this bill.   LEGAL & LEGISLATION Kansas: Emergency Powers Legislation Sent to the Governor's Desk with Strong Bipartisan Support Yesterday, the Kansas Legislature gave final approval to Emergency Powers Legislation, Senate Bill 40.    LEGAL & LEGISLATION Rhode Island: House Judiciary Committee Will Conduct Remote "Gun Bill Day" Friday Ocean State NRA members will have to dial into the Statehouse this year if they want to make their voice heard on a full slate of gun bills scheduled for Friday.     LEGAL & LEGISLATION Idaho: Shooting Range Protection Act Heads to the Governor's Desk Last week, the House passed an important range protection act, Senate Bill 1055, on final reading.
