The 2021 legislative session ends on Friday, March 5th, and two important self-defense bills are eligible for action on the Senate floor.

Tomorrow morning, the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider House Bill 1212.

Democrats on Tuesday announced plans to re-up their push for new gun control measures, but they face a recently changed landscape of more people than ever, especially black people and women, buying firearms for protection. What's more, the promoters of the package to expand FBI background checks are facing demands from liberals to do far more, including banning the sale of semi-automatic firearms and registering ammunition.

Kentucky: House Passes Bill to Prevent Discrimination Against Firearm Businesses
Today, the House of Representatives passed House Bill 175 by a vote of 73-21. It prevents discrimination against firearm businesses. This bill is also considered critical legislation by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, and the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation. HB 175 now goes to the Senate for further consideration.

Today, House Bill 786 passed out of the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee, and now heads to the full committee.  Last night, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved NRA-backed Constitutional Carry legislation, Senate Bill 765, sending the measure to the Senate Finance Committee for further consideration.

Yesterday, House Bill 477 was introduced to create a new lifetime carry permit option for state residents. Speaker McCutcheon, along with Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee chair Rep. Treadaway, join this fight for a lifetime permit in Alabama, throwing their weight in as co-sponsors of this important piece of legislation. The sheriffs have already started trying to move the cost from $200 to an outrageous $500!
