New index to share with you, Fellow Conservative

Fellow Conservative, How are you today? Apologies I didn't touch base with you Friday. I'm reaching out this afternoon because I wanted to put something on your radar for this week. You've probably heard the biblical parable of building your house on the stable rock instead of the unstable sand before the floods come. The philosophy of our military is a lot like that too. We should pray that war never comes but always have our armed forces ready for if it ever does. Heritage believes that a strong national defense is an important conservative principle. So each year, we publish an index that takes a thorough "look under the hood" at US military readiness. We're proud that it's actually the only non-governmental and annual assessment of US military strength. Dakota Wood, Senior Research Fellow for Defense Programs at Heritage, asked me to give you a digital copy of our Index of Military Strength since it just launched. He came to my staff meeting and my team was blown away. You can use it to look at the state of each military branch, understand key themes about American involvement in each world region, and read other topical essays.
