Why 32 congressional candidates have come to Heritage

Fellow Conservative,  As a teenager, Heritage president Kevin Roberts got into a debate with his left-of-center civics teacher. He told Kevin, "You might make something of yourself if you attach evidence to your opinions." Kevin knew that his teacher was right, so he went to The Heritage Foundation for materials that would back up his worldview with well-researched facts. With that better grounding for his conservative beliefs, Kevin Roberts went on to start a K-12 school, lead a faith-based college, and find his way to Heritage as our seventh president. When conservatives want more knowledge to defend your values, they come knocking on the Heritage door. That was true with Kevin as a teen. And that's true for many US House and Senate candidates who come to tap into our Heritage expertise. We saw such a great need that we started a Candidate Briefing Program. Just this Wednesday, we had a House and a Senate candidate both from Arizona come spend 2 hours with our Heritage experts. They chatted through issues like immigration, the economy, China, and more. One of their meetings was with Lora Ries, who leads the Border Security and Immigration Center that I recently told you about.
