COLUMBUS, Ohio — When Republican Gov. Mike DeWine easily defeated Democrat and former Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley in his reelection bid, it wasn’t the largest win in a governors race in the history of the Buckeye State. But it was pretty darn close.
