Tennessee: NRA-Supported Bills Still Moving in the General Assembly On Monday, the Tennessee Senate was scheduled to consider  Senate Bill 2031 .  The bill sponsor, state Senator Joey Hensley (R-28), substituted  House Bill 1483 , sponsored by state Representative Debra Moody (R-81), for SB 2031.  The Senate passed the HB 1483 substitute by a  28 to 2 vote  and returned it to the House for concurrence on that substitute.  HB 1483 would remove all grandfathered local ordinances and resolutions enacted before April 8, 1986 relating to the prohibition or regulation of possession, transportation or storage of firearms and firearm ammunition by Handgun Carry Permit (HCP) holders. Yesterday, the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously passed  Senate Bill 1774 .  SB 1774, sponsored by state Senator Mike Bell (R-9), would allow a law-abiding gun owner to carry a firearm in his or her own vehicle without a HCP.  Today, its House companion,  H...
